Spain jobless surpasses four million for first time in five years

Sharjah 24 – AFP: Spanish Finance minister and Spokesperson of Spanish government María Jesús Montero commented on the data the government released showing that the number of people in Spain registered as unemployed surpassed four million for the first time in five years in February.
The government attributed this large number of unemployed people to the repercussion of the pandemic restrictions that hit the country's tourism-dependent economy.

Spain's regional governments, which are responsible for health, have imposed various measures to try to curb the spread of the coronavirus, including shutting down bars and restaurants and nightly curfews which have hit the hospitality sector hard.
