Sharjah 24: Mohammed Khamis Al Naqbi, Deputy Governor of Shees Region of Khorfakkan, revealed that Shees Mountain Park has attracted about 20,000 visitors since its official opening last October.
The Deputy Governor of Shees Region of Khorfakkan received a delegation from Al Dhaid Municipal Council and Khorfakkan Municipal Council, on Tuesday, at Shees Mountain Park.
The visitors got acquainted with the park, which is located between the mountains of Shees, one of the most recent family tourism destinations in the Eastern Region of the Emirate of Sharjah.
In statements to Sharjah 24, Al Naqbi said that the visit comes in order to get to know the park, which has become one of the most crowded tourist destinations in record time, and to promote such magnificent landmark.
Al Naqbi praised the government’s remarkable support for the project and the keenness of government departments to visit and hold meetings regularly since it was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on October 15.
The Deputy Governor of Shees Region of Khorfakkan pointed out that the park, since its inauguration, has attracted about 20 thousand visitors from various cities of the country in record time, and is attracting a remarkable turnout throughout the week from 7 AM to 11 PM.
Al Naqbi added that development work is continuing in full swing in the park, under the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, including a mosque that is being built in front of it, in addition to expanding the parking area for visitors.
