Sharjah24: Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé missed the French national team's training session on Tuesday at the national football center in Clairefontaine (Yvelines) due to the flu, according to the coaching staff.

The duration of the captain's absence—while he remains "confined to bed"—is currently unknown. This comes as the French team prepares to face Turkey on Friday in the UEFA Nations League, marking Zinedine Zidane's first match as head coach.

Mbappé's 22 teammates met with fans on Tuesday to sign memorabilia and take photos before the training session, which was open to the public.

Zidane joins players after warm-up

While members of the coaching staff—led by assistant coach David Bettoni and goalkeeping coach Fabien Barthez—arrived a few minutes before the players, Zidane waited until the squad had begun warm-ups and the stands at the "Pibarot" pitch were full of fans before joining the group, so as not to steal the spotlight from his players.

In addition to the match against Turkey, the French team faces three other UEFA Nations League fixtures during this first gathering under Zidane's tenure: an away game against Belgium on 28 September, followed by home matches against Italy and Belgium on 2 and 5 October at the Stade de France.
