Sharjah24: Liverpool stumbled at home as they were held to a goalless draw by Fulham at Anfield in the fourth round of the English Premier League.
Liverpool entered the match on the back of two consecutive victories, against Ipswich Town in the league and Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. However, they struggled against Fulham’s organised defence and were unable to convert their chances into goals.

The hosts’ best opportunity of the first half came through Spaniard Victor Muñoz, who rose to meet a corner with a header, but goalkeeper Bernd Leno intervened before the ball rebounded off the crossbar. Fulham also created opportunities to threaten Alisson’s goal at various stages of the match.

Liverpool coach Andoni Iraola attempted to inject fresh energy into his side in the second half by introducing several players, including Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo. Fulham, however, remained defensively solid until the final whistle to leave Anfield with a point.

Liverpool increased their tally to six points from four matches, having recorded one win and three draws, while Fulham, under coach Álvaro Arbeloa, earned their first point of the season after losing their opening three matches.

Iraola is still searching for his first Premier League victory at Anfield, with both of Liverpool’s home league matches this season ending in draws.
