Sharjah24: Troyes, France — Strasbourg fought back from an early deficit to thrash newly promoted Troyes 6-2 at the Stade de l'Aube on matchday three of Ligue 1.

Troyes, back in the top flight after three seasons in Ligue 2 and unbeaten in their opening two games, went ahead in the ninth minute through Antoine Mille. Spanish forward Jacobo Ortega, one of Strasbourg's summer signings from Real Madrid, levelled in the 40th minute, just before half-time, with his first league goal since joining the club.

Collapse after the break

Troyes' backline then collapsed. Portuguese new arrival Diogo Sousa, American forward Giovanni Reyna and Danish loanee Conrad Harder — on loan from RB Leipzig — scored in the 42nd, 57th and 90+3rd minutes, respectively. Substitute Sam Amo-Ameyaw, the 20-year-old English winger now in his second season since joining from Southampton, added two more in the 85th and 88th minutes.

Jérémy Le Douaron pulled one back for Troyes in the sixth minute of stoppage time, but it did little to ease the scoreline.

A tough test

Strasbourg now faces a difficult trip to Monaco, the league leaders, who sit on a perfect nine points after beating holders Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Friday. PSG have yet to register a win this season.
