Ukrainian drone attacks kill seven in Russia
In Russia, regional officials reported that a massive swarm of Ukrainian drones—which Moscow described as one of the largest attacks in recent memory—killed five people in the southern Rostov region, with two additional fatalities recorded in the Belgorod and Moscow regions.
A major warehouse belonging to Russia's top online retailer, Wildberries, was also set ablaze near Moscow, part of an ongoing Ukrainian campaign targeting logistics and oil infrastructure to disrupt Russia's war economy.
Russian strikes kill five in Ukraine
Meanwhile, Russian missile and drone strikes across Ukraine claimed five more lives. A heavy barrage struck ArcelorMittal's steel plant in President Volodymyr Zelensky's hometown of Kryvyi Rih, killing two workers, wounding 14 others, and forcing a partial halt to production.
Additional strikes killed two people in the Zaporizhzhia region and one in Sumy, while a historic outdoor book market in Kyiv was completely burned to the ground.
Zelensky calls for more air defence support
Zelensky condemned the intensifying campaign, noting that Ukrainian cities have been battered by thousands of drones, guided bombs, and missiles over the past week.
He renewed urgent pleas to Western allies for air defense support, pointing to strained interception supplies and warning that the war is increasingly spilling over borders.
NATO and regional authorities reported intercepting stray drones in Latvian and Romanian airspace over recent days as the aerial conflict broadens.
