The company described the partnership as a first-of-its-kind agreement aimed at showcasing creators on Disney+ through a dedicated feed featuring curated fan-made content.
While Disney did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement in its quarterly earnings report, the company said the collaboration is part of a broader strategy to use advanced technologies to enhance storytelling, expand monetization opportunities, and improve returns.
The announcement follows Disney’s introduction of vertical scrolling video previews on Disney+ for content from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, adopting a format similar to TikTok’s popular viewing style.
Disney’s quarterly results showed a 7% increase in revenue, reaching $25.2 billion. However, net profit for the quarter ending June 27 fell to $2.8 billion from $5.9 billion in the same period last year, partly due to a higher tax bill.
Despite the decline in profit, the company’s overall results exceeded most analyst expectations.
