Discussions on regional developments and security
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the repercussions of the unprovoked Iranian attacks that targeted civilian sites and facilities in the United Arab Emirates using missiles and drones. They also reviewed the serious implications of these attacks on regional and international peace and security, as well as on maritime navigation, energy supplies, and the global economy.
Swedish solidarity with the UAE
Maria Stenergard reaffirmed Sweden’s solidarity with the UAE and its support for all measures necessary to protect the country’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, as well as to ensure the safety of its citizens, residents, and visitors.
For his part, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it reflects the depth of bilateral relations and Sweden’s strong support for the UAE following these attacks.
Strengthening bilateral relations
The two ministers also discussed ways to strengthen regional and international efforts to promote security, stability, and sustainable peace. They further reviewed bilateral relations between the UAE and Sweden and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation across various sectors in line with shared interests and aspirations.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed reaffirmed the strong ties between the two countries, highlighting their longstanding friendship and growing partnership based on mutual respect and a shared commitment to international cooperation, stability, and development.
