The Israeli military said its air force struck several targets at the Mahshahr petrochemical complex as part of ongoing operations against what it described as military objectives linked to the Iranian regime.

According to the military, the attacks were carried out in accordance with intelligence guidance.

The strikes came hours after Iran announced the launch of missiles towards Israeli territory, amid an ongoing exchange of attacks between the two sides.

Israel earlier reported carrying out strikes against what it said were military targets inside Iran.

Military statement

The Israeli military said that its air force had attacked military targets belonging to the Iranian regime in western and central Iran.

It added that the operations were carried out under the direction of military intelligence authorities.

Explosions reported

Meanwhile, Iranian state television reported explosions in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan.

No immediate information was released about casualties or the extent of any damage from the reported strikes.
