Mohammed bin Rashid highlights education as UAE’s nat’l priority

Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, emphasised that education is central to sustainable development and national prosperity during his visit to the Zayed Educational Complex in Al Warqaa.

Visit to Zayed Educational Complex

During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed reviewed the integrated learning environment, which combines academic excellence, national values, creativity, physical activity, reading, and community engagement, fostering responsibility and national identity among students.

Vision for future-ready education

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of preparing a generation that blends knowledge with values, embraces technology, and serves humanity. He highlighted the UAE’s strategic transformation in education, moving beyond classrooms to nurture creative, engaged, and responsible individuals.

Holistic approach to learning

Education in the UAE now integrates knowledge, values, behavior, and national identity, supported by sports, well-being programmes, reading initiatives, and practical classroom projects such as the ‘Little Shop,’ which promotes cooperation, discipline, and civic awareness.

Leadership and guidance

The visit was accompanied by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of Education; and Hajer Ahmed Al Thehli, Secretary-General of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council. The transformation of the UAE education system is guided by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Zayed Educational Complex project

Launched in the 2023–2024 academic year, the Zayed Educational Complexes project spans five emirates with 11 complexes and a capacity of 28,000 students, providing high-quality infrastructure aligned with global standards and reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to future-focused education.
