Milan secured the top spot in Serie A after a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina, capitalizing on Roma’s 0-1 loss to Inter and Juventus’ 0-2 defeat to Como in the same round.
With this win, Milan raised its tally to 16 points, edging ahead of Inter, Napoli, and Roma, who each have 15 points. The race for the top remains highly competitive as early-season momentum continues to shift among Italy’s elite clubs.
Portuguese winger Rafael Leão stole the spotlight, scoring both goals for Milan — the first in the 63rd minute and the second from a penalty in the 86th minute. Fiorentina had initially taken the lead through German defender Robin Gosens in the 55th minute.
Leão’s performance was especially significant as it marked his first goal at San Siro in 513 days. The victory also represents Milan’s first time topping the Serie A table since September 2022.
