Sharjah24 - WAM: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a series of separate meetings with foreign ministers on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York.

Meetings with global counterparts

Sheikh Abdullah met with Cho Hyun, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea; Constantinos Kombos, Foreign Minister of Cyprus; and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India.

Focus on bilateral cooperation and partnerships

The discussions addressed key issues on the UNGA80 agenda, alongside prospects for enhanced cooperation in economy, trade, investment, education, food security, health, culture, artificial intelligence, advanced technology, renewable energy, and climate action.

UAE’s commitment to constructive relations

Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to building strong, sustainable partnerships with friendly and brotherly nations, founded on trust, mutual respect, and constructive collaboration. The ministers also exchanged views on pressing regional and international developments.

Engagement with the world economic forum

In addition, Sheikh Abdullah met with Børge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum, to discuss ways of expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

Attendance at the meetings

The meetings were attended by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State; Ambassador Mohamed Abushahab, UAE Permanent Representative to the United Nations; and Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology.
