Sharjah 24: As part of its global preparatory Roadshow for BRIDGE Summit 2025 — the world’s largest gathering for the media, content, and entertainment industries — scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from December 8–10, BRIDGE convened in Cairo, bringing together over 300 prominent leaders and innovators from media, arts, and content creation, along with editors-in-chief and major production and directing companies.

Platform for strategic vision and collaboration

The event served as a strategic platform to present BRIDGE’s vision of building a global hub that fosters collaboration across media, content, and entertainment. It aims to elevate meaningful communication in sectors that shape public awareness and cultural taste. The event also showcased key tracks of the upcoming Abu Dhabi summit.

Cairo’s cultural legacy celebrated

The evening celebrated Cairo’s pivotal role as one of the Arab world’s most influential cultural and media capitals. With its rich creative heritage, the city was selected as a vital stop in the global Roadshow, reflecting Egypt’s historical leadership and strategic location as a cultural bridge to Africa and emerging media markets. Attendees included cinema, TV, and media icons such as actress Yousra and broadcaster Mahmoud Saad.

Egypt: A cornerstone in the BRIDGE vision

His Excellency Dr Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Director General of the UAE National Media Office and Vice Chairman of BRIDGE, emphasized Egypt’s central role in BRIDGE’s strategic planning. He highlighted Egypt’s enduring influence on Arab media and culture and its continued importance as a gateway to regional and global markets.

“Egypt was never merely an option, but a cornerstone… a center of coming change,” said Dr. Al Kaabi.

BRIDGE Summit 2025: More than just a conference

Dr Al Kaabi explained that BRIDGE Summit 2025 is more than a conventional event — it is a global platform for creators, investors, and policymakers. He underscored the Summit’s vision to generate long-term value, shape cultural identity, and position media and entertainment as pillars of development and civilization.

“We do not offer a passing showcase, but a comprehensive vision that restores media, content, and entertainment to their rightful place.”

Panel discussion: Media, content, and artificial intelligence

The Cairo event featured a fireside conversation between Dr Al Kaabi and Mahmoud Saad, exploring BRIDGE’s mission to become a permanent ecosystem for creativity and collaboration. The discussion touched on the transformative power of technology and artificial intelligence in reshaping the future of media and content industries.

Tech and AI to take centre stage at the Summit

A dedicated track at the Summit will bring together AI experts and global tech companies to explore how the tech revolution intersects with media, entertainment, and content creation. The BRIDGE platform will emphasize sustainable, cross-border partnerships and help build a more inclusive global media ecosystem.
