Sharjah 24: In a distinguished global presence, the United Arab Emirates, represented by the Sharjah Police Science Academy, is participating in the ongoing Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival held in Moscow’s Red Square. The official UAE delegation includes 60 musicians from the Academy’s band, led by Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Ali Al Raisi, head of the delegation. The festival, one of the world’s most prominent in military music, runs until 31 August, spanning two full weeks of performances.
First international participation for the Academy’s band

This marks the Academy band’s first performance abroad since its founding, reflecting its growing international presence and reinforcing the UAE’s role as a cultural bridge through music – the universal language that transcends borders. The Academy seeks to strengthen its musical representation globally while promoting Sharjah’s message of peace and cooperation.

Daily performances in Moscow

The band is presenting daily performances featuring Emirati classics such as Hubkum by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, alongside Emirati folk songs and a selection of Russian and international pieces. Morning concerts are held in gardens and public squares, while the main evening shows take place in Red Square from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm, highlighting Emirati identity through military marches and national melodies.

A historic milestone for Sharjah Police Academy

Brigadier Dr Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Academy, described the participation as a historic milestone, stating: “Our musical band represents Sharjah and the UAE in this renowned international festival. It is more than a musical performance; it is a message of peace and friendship that reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in building bridges of cultural and human communication.”

Strengthening cultural ties with Russia

Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Ali Al Raisi added that the band has prepared a comprehensive programme blending Emirati national identity with the discipline of military music. He emphasised that participation in Spasskaya Tower is an opportunity to showcase the Academy’s artistic and professional excellence on a world stage and to deepen cultural and artistic ties between the UAE and Russia.
