12 medals for UAE Karate Team at Arab Championship in Jordan

Sharjah 24: The UAE Karate Team concluded its participation in the Arab Championship in Jordan with a total of 12 medals—3 silver and 9 bronze. The tournament, held at the German Jordanian University Hall, saw the participation of 360 athletes across various age groups.

Notable achievements in kata and kumite

Shaikha Al Yafei claimed two silver medals in the women’s and girls’ kata categories, while Mahra Yaqoub earned silver in the under 53 kg girls’ kumite event.

Bronze medals were won by Karim Rami in both the men’s and under-21 kata categories, and by the men’s team in kata. In kumite, Shaikha Jawhar (under 48 kg), Malak Al Haj (under 84 kg), Rashid Al Suraidi (under 61 kg), Bakhit Mohammed (under 52 kg), Faisal Al Khalidi (under 70 kg), and Nada Khamis (under 61 kg) each secured bronze in their respective categories.

Championship hosted with high-level attendance

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Dr. Ibrahim Al-Qannas, President of the Arab Federation, President of the West Asian Karate Federation, and a member of the Executive Office of the International Federation, alongside various federation heads and dignitaries.

The UAE’s performance highlighted its growing strength in regional karate competitions, with athletes from multiple age groups showcasing strong technical skills and sportsmanship.
