Hamdan bin Zayed meets Fatwa Council delegation in Rabat

Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, received a delegation from the UAE Council for Fatwa in Rabat, Morocco. The delegation was led by His Eminence Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the Council, and Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Darai, Vice Chairman, along with scholars and experts in Islamic studies and fatwas. Sheikh Hamdan welcomed the delegation and commended their role in promoting tolerance and moderation in line with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Briefing on council initiatives

Sheikh Hamdan was updated on the major initiatives undertaken by the Council within the UAE’s fatwa system, highlighting their contribution to religious guidance and national values.

Presentation on humanitarian diploma

The meeting included a presentation by Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al-Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, on the “Hamdan bin Zayed Diploma for Sustainable Humanitarian Work”. The program aims to develop specialized professionals capable of delivering meaningful humanitarian contributions in giving and development.

Scientific workshop to enhance Fatwa collaboration

The visit coincides with a scientific workshop co-organized by the UAE Council for Fatwa and Morocco’s Higher Council of Ulema. The event focuses on the governance of public and private fatwas and aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation, share expertise, and enhance communication in religious affairs.
