Khalid bin Humaid crowns winners of Arab Chess Championship

Sharjah 24: The Arab Chess Championship for age groups from 8 to 18 concluded with the participation of 216 players from 13 Arab countries. The event was organized by the Royal Moroccan Chess Federation and supervised by the Arab Chess Federation. Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, President of the Arab Chess Federation, crowned the winners of the tournament.

Final round and attendees

The final round and award ceremony were attended by Bushra Al Qadiri, President of the Royal Moroccan Chess Federation and Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee, alongside dignitaries and delegation heads.

Under-20 Category winners

Palestinian Majed Al-Tal won the Under-20 Boys' title with 7.5 points. Emirati Mohammed Saeed Al-Laili secured the silver with 7 points, while Libyan Youssef Al-Samadi took bronze with 6.5 points.

Egyptian Joy Romani claimed the Under-20 Girls' title with 6 points. UAE’s Ahlam Rashid won silver with 5.5 points, and Tunisian Yasmine Jamha earned bronze with 5 points.

Under-18 Category results

Egyptian David George Samir triumphed in the Under-18 Boys' division with 7.5 points. Jordanian Anas Khuwaira and Sharjah’s Yahya Shuaib tied at 6.5 points for silver and bronze respectively. Egyptian Ahmed Qandil came fourth with the same score.

In the Under-18 Girls' category, Jordanian Ruba Al-Qudah dominated with 8 points. Egyptian Jana Mohamed Zaki earned silver with 6.5 points. Bronze was shared by Egyptian Maryam Azab, Tunisian Maryam Bouamour, and Palestinian Iman Sawan, all with 6 points.

Under-16 Category highlights

Egyptian Farid Tamer Wagih secured the Under-16 Boys' title with a perfect 9 points. Emirati Rashid Abubaker Al-Humairi followed with 7 points for silver, and Palestinian Mohammed Sedr took bronze with 6.5 points.

Jordanian Jude Ahmed and Emirati Anoud Issa tied at 7 points for the top spot in the Under-16 Girls' category, with Ahmed taking gold and Issa silver. Egyptian Dima Alaa placed third with 6 points.

Under-14 champions

Egyptian Iyad Al-Husseini claimed the Under-14 Boys' title with a flawless 9 points. Emiratis Rashid Hussain Al-Hammadi and Sultan Jaber Al-Zarouni took silver and bronze with 7 and fewer points respectively.

In the Girls' division, Emirati Ohood Issa and Jordanian Jaida Hilal both scored 7 points, with Issa winning gold. Tunisian Nadine Rajib secured bronze with 6.5 points, tied with Egyptian Raghad Alaa El-Din.

Under-12 Category results

Egyptian Abdelrahman Sameh took gold in the Under-12 Boys' category with 8 points. Tunisian Youssef Abdelrazek won silver with 7 points, and Thabet Benzarti earned bronze with 6.5 points.

Egyptian Zakaa Mohamed Ahmed won the Girls' title with a perfect 9 points. Palestinian Randa Sedr claimed silver with 7 points, and Tunisian Yara Abdullah took bronze with 6 points.

Under-10 and Under-8 winners

Qatari Khaled Al-Jumaat won the Under-10 Boys' category with 7.5 points, tying with Tunisian Jihad Mandili who earned silver. Egyptian Youssef Douidar took bronze with 7 points. Egyptian Ghaida Mohamed Ahmed won the Under-10 Girls' title with a perfect 9 points. Tunisians Jana Hadak and Yasmine Dimassi secured silver and bronze with 8 and 7 points respectively.

Tunisian Youssef Al-Haj Salah won the Under-8 Boys' title with 7.5 points. Yahya Dimassi followed with 7 points for silver, while Emirati Mohammed Al-Muaini took bronze with 6 points, tied with Egyptian Moheb Ahmed Osama.

In the Under-8 Girls' division, Tunisian Elaine Hadak won gold. Emirati Mira Abdullah earned silver, and Moroccan Salwa Bairi claimed bronze.
