Wildfire in central Turkey kills 10, injures 14

Firefighting efforts

Firefighters and rescue teams have been engaged in efforts since the early hours of Wednesday to control a wildfire in the Seyitgazi district of Eskisehir, as stated by Reuters.

Sudden change in conditions

According to Minister Yumakli, 24 firefighters were trapped when the wind unexpectedly shifted, directing flames toward them. They were rushed to the hospital, but tragically, ten succumbed to their injuries while treatment for the 14 others is still ongoing.

Ongoing wildfire situation

Additionally, Yumakli mentioned that seven wildfires are still active in five central and western provinces of Turkey as of Wednesday.
