Buildings in Bogota shook, sirens wailed throughout the city, and people rushed into the streets.
No immediate human or material losses reported
The German Research Centre for Geosciences announced that a 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia on Sunday at a depth of 10 kilometers. However, Colombia's geological survey stated the quake measured 6.4 in magnitude, occurring between the capital, Bogotá, and the region of Villavicencio. So far, no casualties or damages have been reported.
