Sharjah24: Aisha Obaid Ghabesh, Director of Events and Activities at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), announced the launch of the 18th edition of "Bisharat Al-Qayz" event under the theme "Jasmine Blossom." The initiative aims to educate younger generations about the richness of their heritage, particularly the uses of jasmine, which has been traditionally used in perfumes, adornments, and folk remedies. The event included the participation of 35 children and their parents.

Jasmine’s Cultural Role

Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Ghabesh talked about the importance of jasmine, a fragrant plant that is familiar in the country and known for its smell, beauty, and healing properties. She said this year’s event, called “Jasmine Blossom,” focuses on these traditional uses, helping young attendees learn more about their culture.

Workshops and Activities

The event featured a series of workshops, including making aromatic materials, crafting jasmine garlands, and an exhibition introducing the cultural and historical importance of jasmine. Ghabesh confirmed that "Bisharat Al-Qayz"  which began in 2008, continues to be well received by participants and reflects the enduring value of cultural traditions.
