Sharjah24 - WAM: His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, affirmed that the unification of the UAE Armed Forces constitutes a strategic decision that articulates the spirit of the Union, enhances national unity, and supports its security and stability.

In a statement marking the 49th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Humaid said, "On this glorious national day, we celebrate the anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces under one flag and one unified command. We express our pride and appreciation for our brave men who have shouldered the responsibility of defending our precious homeland and safeguarding its achievements and accomplishments."

His Highness added, "On 6th May 1976, the will of the Union was realised, and the pillars of security and stability were firmly established under the leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the fellow founding fathers, who resolved to establish unified, strong armed forces to defend the homeland, protect its sovereignty, and raise its flag high among nations."

Sheikh Humaid explained that the day of the unification of the Armed Forces is not merely a historical decision, but a symbol of steadfast national will, a deep belief in a shared destiny, and a true embodiment of the spirit of the Union upon which the UAE was founded.

His Highness noted that this strategic decision was a fundamental cornerstone for strengthening national sovereignty, building a defensive force that protects achievements, defends principles, and contributes to maintaining security and stability.

His Highness Sheikh Humaid continued, "Today, as we commemorate this cherished occasion, we extend our warmest congratulations and most sincere feelings of affection and pride to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; to their brothers, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates; and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; as well as to the people of the UAE; and to all members of our valiant Armed Forces — the men of honour, pride, and sacrifice."

His Highness  pointed out that the UAE Armed Forces have become a global model of efficiency and loyalty to the nation and its leadership, playing a vital role in maintaining peace, security, and stability both locally, regionally, and internationally, and in aiding disaster and conflict-affected areas around the world.

Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid stressed that the achievements of the Armed Forces in terms of capacity development and readiness, as well as the heroism and sacrifices demonstrated by UAE soldiers, increase confidence and reassurance that the future of our nation is secure and prosperous, God willing.

His Highness  said, "We remember with great reverence and gratitude the nation's martyrs who sacrificed their lives for it, and we ask God to grant them His vast mercy. We also express our deep appreciation to every officer and soldier of our Armed Forces, who continue to work tirelessly day and night to keep our homeland dear, safe, and stable."

Sheikh Humaid concluded by saying, "Supporting the Armed Forces is a national duty and a top priority, to enable them to continue fulfilling their noble mission of defending the homeland, safeguarding its security, and promoting the path of comprehensive development.

On this precious national occasion, we renew our pledge to stand united behind our valiant Armed Forces, the shield of the Union and the fortress of the nation, praying to God to protect our country, our leadership, and our people, to have mercy on our righteous martyrs, to bless us with continued security and stability, and to grant our Armed Forces success in all that is good."
