Saif bin Zayed meets Russian Interior Minister in Moscow

The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Russian Ministry of the Interior, underscored the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two friendly nations in the security and police sectors, and explored ways to further bolster them. Discussions also addressed various issues related to enhancing cooperation and international joint efforts aimed at promoting societal security.

H.H. Sheikh Saif and the Russian Interior Minister signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of crime prevention and control between the UAE Ministry of the Interior and its Russian counterpart. In addition, they signed an MoU for cooperation in combating crime between the UAE Ministry of Interior and the Russian Ministry of Interior. This opens up broad horizons for coordination in the exchange of information and expertise, the implementation of joint training programs, and the fight against organized crime, drug crimes, child sexual exploitation, cybercrime, environmental crimes, and the protection of cultural heritage.

The two sides witnessed the official launch of the UAE-Russia Strategic Police Dialogue, a key initiative that reinforces their expanding strategic partnership across all domains.

The dialogue seeks to deepen mutual ties, foster the exchange of expertise in combating transnational crime, and share best practices adopted by both nations—drawing on their extensive experience and accomplishments in modern policing.

The meeting and MoU signing ceremony were attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; and Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and a number of officials and officers from the UAE and Russian Ministries of Interior.
