Khawla Al Ali, Director of Government Communication at the department, stated that the conference aims to present innovative insights that strengthen social policies by showcasing successful experiences and practices that support community cohesion. It also seeks to promote social awareness and address societal challenges, while enhancing cooperation among governmental, private, and civil sectors to foster social stability.
Key topics include modern challenges such as poverty, unemployment, domestic violence, and discrimination. The forum will also highlight innovative solutions, policy development for improved quality of life, and the role of media in building social unity. It will explore the future of social services amid advancing technology and artificial intelligence, and propose initiatives to support vulnerable groups and achieve social justice.
Al Ali noted that the conference will serve as a platform for leading social work professionals and institutions from across the Gulf region to exchange ideas and strategies for advancing the field. The event will feature six diverse papers and live presentations from institutions engaged in social causes.
The conference will focus on nine key areas, including: the role of social observatories in developing proactive policies, social impact assessment, and community infrastructure development; leveraging social research in policymaking; the integration of AI in social services to promote societal stability; global initiatives and best practices in social work; strengthening mental health in families and communities; enabling family stability; the media’s role in social cohesion; strategies for building a sustainable and inclusive society; and the role of legislation and policy in reinforcing community cohesion and stability.
Al Ali confirmed that the conference will conclude with a set of strategic recommendations based on the sessions and workshops, offering actionable proposals to support policy development and reinforce social stability and cohesion.
