Sharjah 24: At a time when the global economy is losing an estimated 1 billion dollars every hour due to disengaged workforces, and leadership is being redefined, the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF) 2025 brought together a panel of experts to discuss Conscious Leadership - a transformative approach that prioritizes self-awareness, well-being, and social impact in business and beyond.

Panelists Discuss How to foster innovation, resilience, and success

Moderated by Emma Burdett, Founder of Wild Women Lead, the session featured Dr. Elie Abirached, biohacking expert and Founder of Restore, leadership strategist Shereen Qutab, Farah Kassab, Founder of Development x Design, and Scott Armstrong, Founder of MENTL. They explored how leaders can create environments that drive innovation, resilience, and purpose.

Conscious leadership drives business success

Armstrong highlighted that disengaged employees cost the world economy nearly $1 billion per hour, stressing that conscious leadership drives business success by making employees feel valued, heard, and motivated.

Importance of mental well-being in leadership

Armstrong also discussed global burnout levels, warning that stress and anxiety can cause creativity loss, which harms innovation and problem-solving. He emphasized the necessity of protecting mental health for business success.

Being intentional in leadership actions

Qutab defined conscious leadership as being "intentional and deliberate," encouraging leaders to thoughtfully engage with employees and stand up for what’s right.

Aligning leadership with personal goals and values

Kassab emphasized that leadership starts with knowing your goals and aligning your actions with your values. She highlighted journaling as an essential tool for defining and staying aligned with those goals.

Discipline, consistency, and rest for lasting success

Longevity coach Dr Abirached discussed the "golden traits for success," including discipline, consistency, and a strong mind-body connection, stressing that good sleep is foundational to health and success.

Tips for better sleep and overall well-being

Dr Abirached shared practical tips for improving sleep quality, including keeping the room cool, darkening the space, and avoiding food before bed. He emphasized that rest, along with physical and mental health, is crucial for success.
