UAE strongly condemns attack on Saudi hospital in Sudan

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the targeting of the Saudi hospital in El Fasher, western Sudan, which led to numerous deaths and injuries, describing the attack as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

Call for peace and protection of civilians

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, reaffirmed the UAE’s call for a peaceful resolution to the conflict, an immediate ceasefire, and the protection of civilians and medical facilities. He emphasised the importance of ensuring that health workers and institutions are safeguarded during conflict.

Upholding humanitarian commitments

Sheikh Shakhboot also stressed the need for all parties to honor their legal and humanitarian obligations under the Jeddah Declaration and the Aligned for Advancing Lifesaving and Peace in Sudan (ALPS) Group’s proposed mechanisms.
