Empoli, meanwhile, have 20 points and are still in 14th position.
Inter Milan took the lead in the 55th minute with goals from Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries. Dumfries increased the advantage in the 79th minute. In the 83rd minute, Sebastiano Esposito of Empoli scored to make it 2-1. However, Inter Milan's Marcus Thuram scored a third goal in the 89th minute to secure the victory.
