Sharjah24: Real Madrid has qualified for the final match of the Spanish Super Cup, currently being held in Saudi Arabia, by defeating Real Mallorca 3-0.
On Thursday, Real Madrid triumphed 3-0 over Real Mallorca in the semi-final of the tournament, held at King Abdullah Sports City (the Jewel) in Jeddah.
English international star Jude Bellingham opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 63rd minute, before Slovakian Martin Valjent of Mallorca accidentally added the second goal for the royal team in the third minute of stoppage time in the second half.
Brazilian Rodrygo sealed the third goal for Real Madrid in the fifth minute of injury time. This match marked the second encounter between the white team and Mallorca in various competitions this season, following their previous 1-1 draw at the start of their La Liga campaigns last August.
With this result, Real Madrid set up a fiery showdown with their traditional rival Barcelona in the final match, which will take place next Sunday at the same venue.
This will be the second match between Real Madrid and Barcelona in different competitions this season, as the Catalan team previously won 4-0 against the white team in Madrid last October.
Moreover, this final marks the third consecutive meeting between Barcelona, the record-holder with 14 Super Cup titles, and Real Madrid in the competition.
Barcelona reached the final after defeating Athletic Bilbao 2-0 in the other semi-final match.
