Venezuela's Maduro sworn in for 3rd term after contested election

Sharjah 24 – Reuters: Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was sworn in for his third term on Friday at the National Assembly in Caracas, despite a contested July election and international pressure for him to step down.

Maduro, whose leadership has been marked by economic and social turmoil, declared that his new term would prioritise peace. National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez responded, affirming, "You have been inaugurated as president according to the constitution."
