Football icons face off in Sharjah Football Stars Week

Sharjah 24: Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority, announced that the "Sharjah's Week of the Stars" will take place under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, as well as Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council. The event is set to kick off on Friday, January 10, and marks the third edition organized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority. It will run until January 13 and will feature a host of world-renowned sports legends, including 22 celebrated football icons.

Al Midfa emphasized that with each edition, the focus is on diversity and growth. The week will showcase a variety of unique sporting events, including a football match titled “Night of Football Stars,” featuring retired international legends, along with the inaugural round of the Sharjah International Foot Golf Championship and the Legends Padel Championship. Additionally, the event will host an “E-Sports” electronic games championship open to the public, with participation from football legends.

He highlighted the positive effects such events have in attracting top sports figures and their influence on tourism in the Emirate of Sharjah. The legends will participate in tours throughout the emirate's cities, sharing their experiences and showcasing the local customs and traditions of the UAE and Sharjah through their platforms, which collectively reach around 20 million followers.

Al Midfa encouraged the public to come out, enjoy the matches, join in the festivities, and capture memorable moments with football legends.
