"We will begin receiving international flights to and from Damascus International Airport starting Tuesday," state news agency SANA quoted Ashhad al-Salibi, head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, as saying.
Al-Salibi reassured both Arab and international airlines, stating that the rehabilitation of Damascus and Aleppo airports is underway with the assistance of their partners, ensuring they will be ready to welcome flights from around the world.
While international flights were suspended, international aid planes and foreign diplomatic delegations have continued to land in Syria. Domestic flights have already resumed operations.
