Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre (ADSCC) has made a major breakthrough by developing clinical-grade induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, positioning the centre as a leader in stem cell research.

Innovation with virus-free protocol

Using exclusive, virus-free techniques in its research laboratories, ADSCC has created iPSCs without genetic modification, minimizing risks such as cell transformation or tumor formation, ensuring safety for clinical applications.

Advancing personalised and regenerative medicine

This achievement allows the creation of iPSCs from patients' own cells, opening doors to personalized therapies for conditions like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes. ADSCC’s protocols pave the way for safer and more effective treatments.

UAE's position as a global hub for medical research

ADSCC’s development of virus-free, clinical-grade iPSCs sets a global benchmark in regenerative medicine, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a hub for innovative healthcare research and advancing the UAE's vision for leadership in healthcare innovation.

A leap in regenerative medicine and local biomanufacturing

The new in-house protocol strengthens ADSCC’s capacity for local biomanufacturing, offering greater control over the quality and availability of cutting-edge regenerative therapies.

A commitment to patient-centered innovation

Professor Yendry Ventura emphasized that ADSCC’s focus is not only on scientific excellence but on delivering transformative therapies for patients with complex diseases, ensuring significant progress in the fight against chronic and neurological conditions.
