This annual event is one of the most prominent winter attractions in Abu Dhabi, blending adventure, heritage, and inspiring experiences around Moreeb Dune, the highest sand dune in the UAE.
Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Liwa Sports Club, said the event is expected to attract over 3,000 athletes and competitors, reinforcing the festival's status as a premier destination for sports enthusiasts from the UAE and the region.
The festival will feature a packed schedule of 16 sporting events, combining challenge, strength, and excitement for desert sports enthusiasts.
Al Qubaisi added that this year's programme includes desert sports such as the famous Moreeb Hill Climb Championship, one of the toughest sand-climbing challenges globally, as well as drag races, horse and camel races that blend heritage with competition.
The events also feature freestyle drift and burnout championships, showcasing competitors' skills in control and innovation alongside the Sand Drift Championship, offering a unique driving experience on the dunes.
The festival will also include heritage sports like the Falcon Racing Championship and the Pigeon Lure Competition. Spectacular shows, such as Monster Truck exhibitions, add to the event's diversity and appeal, along with the daily signature Liwa Sand Activities.
