Sharjah24 - WAM: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, attended the graduation ceremony of the 21st cohort of the Gulf Medical University, which included 561 male and female graduates, at the Thumbay Medicity in Ajman. The ceremony was also attended by Sheikh Rashid bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality & Planning Department.
Sheikh Ammar commended the continuous efforts and support of the UAE’s leadership for higher education institutions, in line with the era of knowledge and rapid scientific advancements. He emphasised that President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, along with Their Highnesses the members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, have made education one of the main pillars of the nation’s developmental renaissance, serving as the true foundation for the UAE's aspirations and ambitions, which know no limits.

He also lauded the Gulf Medical University for its successful academic journey, producing graduates equipped with knowledge, culture, and values, and praised the high academic and professional standards in critical and medical fields. He thanked the university’s management, faculty, staff, and technical teams for their efforts.

He congratulated the graduates on their outstanding achievements and encouraged them to continue their learning journey, stating, "Learning should be a lifelong pursuit, as it is the only path to excellence in one's professional career." H.H. Sheikh Ammar urged the graduates to "use the knowledge gained at the Gulf Medical University to contribute to the development of their communities."

The university announced that the number of graduates from Gulf Medical University has now reached 4,124, with this year’s batch including 207 graduates from the College of Medicine, 78 from the College of Dentistry, 47 from the College of Pharmacy, 151 from the College of Health Sciences, 50 from the College of Nursing, and 28 from the Thumbay College of Business Administration and AI in Healthcare. Students at Gulf Medical University represent 102 nationalities.

Dr. Thumbay Moideen, founder and President of the Thumbay Group, expressed his gratitude to the Ruler of Ajman and the Crown Prince of Ajman for the significant support the Emirate provides to the group. He highlighted that Gulf Medical University is entering its 27th year, marking a milestone in private health education in the region, and mentioned that the Thumbay network of hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and labs serves approximately 11 million patients. He affirmed that the university plays a key role in the growth of the healthcare sector in the country through its excellence in education and research.

Professor Hossam Hamdy, University Advisor, urged graduates to uphold the values instilled in them by the university, noting that the Gulf Medical University and its hospitals would prioritise graduates for training and employment opportunities, continuing to provide them with support after graduation. He explained that the university offers 35 programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and residency levels and has established distinguished research centres collaborating with global research institutions, particularly in cancer immunology and infectious diseases research, with many of their papers published in prestigious international journals.

 Sheikh Ammar, accompanied by Dr. Thumbay, presented the graduates with their degrees and received a commemorative plaque from Dr. Thumbay.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Sheikh Ammar honoured several government and private entities, institutions, and officials for their contributions and collaboration with the university.

After the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Ammar met with Emirati graduates, reaffirming the support of H.H. the Ruler of Ajman and his own commitment to supporting distinguished students in continuing their success and achieving their bright future. He encouraged the graduates to pursue further academic excellence to fulfil their aspirations and those of the UAE and its people.
