Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, praised the exceptional efforts of the International Charity Organisation (ICO) in Ajman since its establishment 40 years ago.
Over this period, the organisation's projects have exceeded AED 5.3 billion, benefitting communities both within the UAE and internationally.
Sheikh Humaid made the remarks during a reception hosted at the Emiri Court today, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council; Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ajman Ruler's Representative for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the ICO's Board of Trustees, and Dr. Khalid Al Khaja, ICO's Secretary-General.
Sheikh Humaid highlighted the humanitarian role of the ICO in supporting and developing communities. He noted its founding as one of the first philanthropic organisations in the UAE aimed to assist those in need worldwide, alleviating their suffering and improving their living conditions.
"We are proud of the significant achievements of the ICO over four decades of tireless work," said His Highness. "Despite the challenges it has faced while operating in numerous countries, its strong commitment to noble humanitarian principles and the dedicated efforts of its teams have enabled these successes."
During the meeting, Ajman Ruler and Crown Prince reviewed a series of new projects and initiatives planned by the ICO for 2025.
Sheikh Ammar also commended the ICO's pivotal role within the UAE's philanthropic framework. He also highlighted its distinguished contributions to various national and relief campaigns, as well as its impactful field efforts both within the UAE and abroad.
