The event focused on best practices for combating veterinary epidemics, knowledge exchange, and showcasing the Municipality's expertise in the field. The delegation also highlighted the pioneering work of Dana Al-Junaibi, Head of the Veterinary Laboratory Department, who presented her master's thesis.
Jamal Juma Al Mazmi, Director of Health Control and Safety, emphasised the Municipality’s commitment to adopting international best practices in veterinary medicine. He noted that the Municipality's participation in such global forums strengthens its role in enhancing public health and supporting the Emirate's strategy for food security through improved animal health and production.
The conference covered five key topics: health policies, veterinary capacity building, international economics and animal health, antibiotic resistance, climate change’s impact on disease, and technological advances in veterinary epidemiology.
Discussions also included the latest diagnostic technologies for controlling animal diseases, as well as strategies for enhancing veterinary capabilities to improve public health and environmental sustainability under the "One Health" concept.
