This came during his meeting yesterday in Abu Dhabi with Egyptian Minister of Religious Endowments Osama Al-Azhari, accompanied by his delegation.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, and Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Director of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities.

The two sides explored several topics of mutual interest, including fostering cooperation across various fields, exchanging expertise, and supporting initiatives that promote social peace and cultural exchange among nations.

They also discussed collaboration in addressing shared challenges facing the Arab and Islamic worlds, notably combating extremist ideologies.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak praised Egypt's leading role, represented by the Ministry of Religious Endowments, in promoting moderate, enlightened thought and countering extremist rhetoric.

He highlighted the importance of joint efforts among religious and cultural institutions in Arab countries to present a civilised model to the world, reflecting Islam's true values of peace, coexistence, and human fraternity.

He also expressed his eagerness for further fruitful collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Religious Endowments, emphasising the historic ties between the UAE and Egypt, which serve as a strong foundation for developing joint initiatives across various fields.
