His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi emphasised that giving is not just a noble act, but a source of happiness and contentment.
This came during His Highness’s attendance Saturday of the 14th edition of the RAK Terry Fox Run, which is dedicated to supporting cancer research. The event, held along the Corniche Al Qawasim, saw the participation of many community members.
His Highness said that these charitable initiatives hosted in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah play a significant role in activating the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among the institutions and individuals of the community, reflecting the core values of the people of the UAE. He also noted that the collective efforts made by everyone reflect the community's commitment to supporting causes and achieving humanitarian goals.
The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah praised the noble objectives of the race, which aims to enhance research and innovation in cancer treatment, raise community awareness, promote health, and improve quality of life. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this charitable event.
The race, which is one of the main annual activities in Ras Al Khaimah, is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, in cooperation with the Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Charity and Humanitarian Foundation. The proceeds from the event are allocated to the University of Sharjah, which conducts specialized scientific research on cancer.
The Terry Fox Run is an annual non-competitive charity event held around the world to raise money for cancer research in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.
On the 16th of November 2022 we will celebrate the World Falconry Day (WFD). Each year, we invite you to celebrate the inscription of falconry as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
All individuals, clubs and organizations are welcome to participate and use the WFD logo, irrespective of membership of the IAF. The only important consideration is that the activity should be designed to develop a good image of falconry at a local and global level. You can download the WFD logo from the IAF website if you wish, and your activity can be part of the official IAF programme and may subsequently be publicized internationally. World Falconry Day (WFD) is observed by falconers internationally to celebrate the inauguration of falconry to United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage The observance commemorates when UNESCO recognized falconry as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It encourages research into the social history of falconry while advocating for conservation and falconry's heritage.
