Fujairah CP attends opening of Fujairah Int'l Mining Forum

Sharjah24 - WAM: Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, affirmed the significance of the mining and mineral wealth sector in the emirate, highlighting its role in supporting sustainable economic growth in the UAE and enhancing its leading position in this vital sector.
This came during his attendance at the launch of the ninth edition of the Fujairah International Mining Forum, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah.

The conference is organised by the Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure under the theme "Mining Investment... Sustainable Development", with the presence of Sheikh Engineer Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director-General of the Fujairah e-Government Department, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, and Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy.

The Crown Prince of Fujairah pointed out the importance that the Fujairah government places on the mining industries and its sustainable projects, based on the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, and his commitment to developing the mining sector and mineral resources and exploring opportunities for sustainable investment on a global level.

Mohamed Saif Al Afkham, Chairman of Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation Board of Directors, Saif Ghobash, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Sector, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and Adel Saqr, representative of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardisation and Mining Organisation, also addressed the conference.

During the opening ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed honoured the winners of the Fujairah Award for Best Mining Practices and the event partners.

The conference will discuss a range of topics including mining strategies; mining investment opportunities and incentives; energy transitioning minerals; added value and supply chains in the mining sector; innovation and digital transformation in the mining sector (AI, data and automation) and protection of geological heritage.
