Sharjah24 – WAM: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) will oversee and organise the collection of relief aid at Abu Dhabi Ports' Cruise Terminal (Terminal 1) on Sunday, 13th October 2024, from 09:00 to 13:00 GST, in coordination with Abu Dhabi’s donor agencies and institutions. This step is in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is carried out with the follow-up of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and the supervision of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.
Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ERC, and Member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, emphasised that the UAE's humanitarian, charitable, and developmental efforts to assist countries, communities, and people in need worldwide keep alive the enduring legacy of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a legacy that is further strengthened by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

The ERC continues to uphold this long-standing commitment under the close follow-up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the ERC.

Dr. Al Mazrouei highlighted the leading global humanitarian role undertaken by the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council under the leadership of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed, who is overseeing the implementation of the 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' campaign.

He explained that the 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' campaign is a national, community-driven initiative launched in solidarity with the Lebanese people and in response to the urgent humanitarian situation resulting from the crisis in Lebanon. He also reiterated the ERC’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibility to deliver urgent relief aid by providing essential food, medical supplies, and shelter to those affected and in need during these challenging times.
