MoHAP, SEDD partner to streamline facility licensing in Sharjah

Sharjah24: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) have teamed up by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The strategic partnership aims to establish an electronic link to streamline the licensing processes for health facilities in Sharjah, enhancing regulatory services by embracing best practices in digital transformation in line with government directives.

The MoU was inked at SEDD’s Main Office, by Dr.Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector, MoHAP, and HE Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD. The signing event was attended by various managers from both sides.

Innovative licensing procedure system
The MoU seeks to drive digital transformation across all transactions related to health facility licensing in Sharjah, aiming to improve the customer experience by accelerating and integrating government procedures. It also aims to enhance efficiency, quality, and flexibility, in line with “We the UAE Vision 2031.”

Integration of government efforts
Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri emphasised that the MoU will significantly bolster the strategic partnership between government agencies, ensuring a seamless integration by coordinating efforts, streamlining procedures, and expediting their completion to meet customer needs. “We are committed to making the most of our advanced digital infrastructure to better render health facility licensing services.”

Strategic Partnership
"This MoU is part of a series of many initiatives by the Ministry aimed at establishing an electronic connection for all services related to licensing health facilities with local economic development departments. It facilitates the effective exchange of data and information between entities, speeding up the decision-making process and aiming to eliminate bureaucracy through a sophisticated strategic partnership.

This partnership will not only enhance cooperation but also leverage the human and knowledge resources available to each entity, ultimately benefiting customers and the wider community," said His Excellency.

Dr. Al Amiri further noted: "Through this agreement, we look forward to achieving strategic integration that ensures the provision of swift and efficient licensing services. This will, in addition to enhancing the attractiveness of the health sector for investments, support sustainable growth, and boost the country's competitiveness on various performance indicators."

Business Development
Meanwhile,Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud highlighted that the MoU with the Ministry of Health and Prevention is set to foster cooperation and enhance collaborative efforts. “We also seek to implement the best practices and services to develop the business sector, upgrade national performance, improve institutional competitiveness, and achieve comprehensive sustainable development, in line with both federal and local government strategies.”

Supporting competitiveness
His Excellency added, "Our collaborative efforts will not only serve our shared goals but also the public interest, enhancing national economic performance and boosting the competitiveness of all economic sectors—particularly the health sector. Moreover, this collaboration will help create a favourable environment for investment, facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge within our respective areas, and ultimately improve the ease of doing business in the health sector, making the emirate more attractive to potential investors and businesses."
