Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Ministry of Economy has announced the launch of the National Economic Registry "Nomu," designed to create a comprehensive database for businesses and companies across the seven emirates. This initiative aims to streamline the procedures and requirements for establishing businesses and conducting economic activities through a unified national portal.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, stated that the "Nomu" platform offers proactive services and reliable information to a broad audience, including decision-makers, businesspeople, investors, entrepreneurs, research centers, and the media. A key feature of the platform is the ability to access data on any commercial license in the country, as well as information on over 2,000 economic activities available across the emirates and investment opportunities in various sectors.

Al Marri highlighted that the National Economic Registry connects more than 46 entities nationwide and includes the Unified Economic Number (ERN), a federal identifier for establishments and companies. This number facilitates the exchange of information between federal and local government bodies and licensing authorities.

The National Economic Registry is expected to play a crucial role in showcasing the UAE's new economic model focused on innovation and knowledge. It aims to solidify the country's position as a global hub for the new economy over the next decade by providing opportunities and resources to investors and business owners, while simplifying digital business processes. Currently, the registry encompasses 1.5 million active and canceled commercial licenses.

All licensing authorities are connected to the ministry, and every state company, including those in free zones, is registered within the economic registry.
