Sharjah 24 – WAM: Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met with Jassim Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the workshop for preparing the GCC Strategy for Combating Drugs (2025-2028).
During their discussions, Sheikh Saif and Al-Budaiwi explored various topics concerning the enhancement of joint Gulf cooperation in security and police matters. They emphasised the importance of advancing GCC integration in line with the directives of the GCC leaders, particularly in combating the harmful and destructive effects of drugs on individual and societal health and safety.
They stressed the need for a unified GCC strategy supported by effective mechanisms to strengthen joint action, ensuring increased security and stability for GCC communities.
The meeting was attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Brigadier Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Federal Anti-Narcotics Department and Vice Chairman of the State Anti-Narcotics Council.
On behalf of the GCC Secretariat, attendees included Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Assistant Secretary-General for Security Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Al Qamzi, Director of the Office of the Assistant Secretary-General for Security Affairs, Major Dr. Mohammed Al Darmaki, Director of the Security Strategy and Systems Development Department, Major Al Wahi Al Aqari, Secretary of the Assistant Secretary-General for Security Affairs, and Abdullah Saleh Al Jarbou, Director-General of the Office of the Secretary-General.
