Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) has opened registration for the fourth edition of the Sharjah Aquathlon, scheduled to be held on September 8 on the beach of Al Hamriyah city.
The council explained that registration is available via the link https://www.hopasports.com/en/event/sharjah-aquathlon-al-hamriyah-2024.
The race includes categories: Super Sprint with a 350m swim and a 2.5km run, Sprint with a 750m swim and a 5km run, and Junior for children with a 150m swim and a 1.5km run. The races for the categories will start successively starting at 6:15pm with the Junior category race followed by the Sprint race at 6:20pm, followed by the Super Sprint race five minutes later, with the winners being crowned at 7:30pm.
Dr. Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department at the council, stressed that the great success witnessed by this event in previous versions is what strengthened its continuation and adoption within the annual agenda of community sports activities.
He pointed out that the organising committee took care to ensure that each version of the race bears its distinctive symbols printed on the participation medal, which was designed in the shape of a triangle to integrate the parts with the "triathlon and duathlon" races.
