In his speech at the 50th session of the OIC Foreign Minister meeting in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Taha highlighted ongoing efforts to address the Israeli occupation's aggression against Palestinians, who have the right to self-defense. He urged a collective international effort to enforce UN General Assembly and Security Council resolutions for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring relief aid reaches all affected areas.
Taha also reaffirmed the OIC's commitment to achieving peace, security, and stability for its member countries. He noted ongoing efforts with Kuwait to establish an international Islamic court of justice.
Additionally, Taha discussed preparations for the donors' conference for displaced persons in the Sahel region and Chad Basin, scheduled for October in Jeddah. He emphasized that the OIC Secretariat is actively working on this issue.
The current Foreign Ministers session, focused on developing infrastructure, transport, and communication within the OIC, will also address challenges such as poverty, security, and the promotion of science.
