Sharjah 24 – WAM: The "Emirati Women and Future-Making" conference will commence next Wednesday under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Nation,” Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
Organised by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence as part of the celebrations for Emirati Women’s Day, the conference highlights the pioneering role of women in Emirati society by showcasing their outstanding achievements in various fields.
The conference which will be opened by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence will feature the participation of Alia Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship.
The event will include two main sessions: the first, titled "Emirati Women and Modern Technological Achievements," will discuss the role of Emirati women in shaping the future of the UAE, with contributions from Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi, Director of the Cybersecurity Governance Risk Management Department at the Dubai Electronic Security Centre; Najla Al Midfa, CEO of the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre, and Omniyat Al Hajeri, Executive director of Community health sector in AD Public Health Centre.
The second session, titled "The Role of Emirati Women in Enhancing Social Cohesion through the Values of Tolerance and Coexistence," will feature Layla Al Hayas, Executive Director of the Community Development Sector at the Department of Community Development, Abu Dhabi; Fatima Al Kaabi, Deputy Chairperson of the NHRI, and Hana Al Rostamani, Chief Executive Officer at First Abu Dhabi Bank.
The conference will also honour the most influential women in the journey of Emirati women.
Sheikh Nahyan will present awards to Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, and Secretary General of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Institutions; Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of General Women's Union, and others.
Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the significant role of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in advancing the objectives of the conference, emphasising her esteemed status and vision for women's empowerment. He noted that her ongoing support is fundamental to the success of Emirati women, and her long-standing efforts to promote women's rights and capabilities have achieved notable global recognition.
