National Archives and Library unveils advanced e-application

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The National Archives and Library has unveiled its updated main electronic application, featuring advanced digital solutions and AI-enhanced services. This new application offers a wide array of services for both customers and employees, bridging the gap between the archives and the audience of beneficiaries.
The launch took place at the information technology forum held at the National Archives and Library headquarters. His Excellency Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General, emphasised the institution's commitment to enriching knowledge societies and advancing towards a knowledge-based economy. He highlighted the necessity of artificial intelligence in preserving national memory and making it accessible to researchers and future generations.

Salma Al Mansouri, Director of the Support Services Department, noted the proactive approach of the National Archives and Library in utilising technology as engines of change towards a more innovative future. She praised the Information Technology Department's efforts in developing systems and applications that align with the institution's mission of preserving documentary heritage and enhancing its value through innovation.

Abdulaziz Al-Amim, Head of the Information Technology Department, showcased the new main application, which consolidates 13 separate applications into a single user-friendly platform. He also reviewed improvements in internal email systems.

Dr. Aisha Belkhair, Research Advisor, introduced the “Your Sciences” platform, focused on heritage and its terminology, along with the Sheikh Zayed Audio Library and features catering to people of determination.

Al-Amim commended the specialists' efforts in ensuring the National Archives and Library remain a sustainable knowledge institution, continuously applying artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The institution focuses on training employees, harnessing expertise, and promoting technical innovation, all of which are expected to generate future revenues.

The National Archives and Library rely on their specialized staff for rapid technological development, as evidenced by the practical application of innovative ideas, including the use of advanced and fast computers. This approach underscores their commitment to not just keeping pace with development but also leading in technical performance, driving development, and confidently moving towards the future.
