Sharjah 24 – WAM: A delegation from the Scholarship Coordination Office (SCO) of the Presidential Court paid an official visit to the People's Republic of China.
The visit included prestigious Chinese universities, the UAE Embassy and its Consulate General in China, and the China Scholarship Council.
The visit aimed at enhancing cooperation between the SCO and Chinese universities, reviewing the available educational services and university requirements, exploring ways to improve student services, and following-up on the conditions of Emirati students on scholarship there.
The delegation met with Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Ambassador of the UAE to the People’s Republic of China, and Muhannad Al Naqbi, Consul-General of the UAE in Shanghai, along with the embassy and consulate staff.
The meetings focused on discussing future cooperation, overcoming challenges faced by students, and facilitating their registration processes and housing arrangements.
During the visit, the delegation met with the Emirati students, who expressed their happiness with the attention given by SCO in checking on their conditions and listening to their feedback.
The delegation also drew attention to its commitment to improving the students' living and academic experience and overcoming any difficulties they might face.
The delegation visited 12 prestigious Chinese universities, including Peking University, Fudan University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Beijing International Studies University.
They discussed admission requirements and processes, updates on academic and summer programmes, and mechanisms for bilateral cooperation with university officials.
The delegation conducted inspection tours of university facilities, research centres, and student housing.
