Sharjah Ruler wins the Nile Award for Arab Innovators

Sharjah24: On Tuesday, Egypt announced that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has been awarded the Nile Award for Arab Innovators for the year 2024.
Director Mohamed Fadel has also been honored with the Nile Prize in Arts, which is Egypt's highest award in various creative fields. The same recognition has been given to the poet Mohamed Ibrahim Abu Sana in the field of literature, and to former Minister of Culture Mohamed Saber Arab in the field of social sciences.

The monetary value of the award in each category is 500 thousand Egyptian pounds (approximately 10 thousand dollars), and it includes a gold medal. The names of the winners were unveiled after the meeting of the Supreme Council of Culture, presided over by Minister Nevin Al Kilani on Tuesday.

In the State Appreciation Awards, the accolade in the field of arts has been presented to director of photography Saeed Shimi, interior designer Onsi Abu Saif, and musician Rida Badir.

In the field of literature, the recognition has been awarded to the critic and academic Hussein Hamouda, the French professor at Cairo University, Ghraa Muhanna, and the writer and academic Sami Suleiman.

Regarding the field of social sciences, the award has been bestowed upon Professor of Political Sociology Ahmed Magdy Hegazy, former Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh El-Damaty, Professor of Media at Cairo University Hassan Imad Makkawi, and Professor of Statistics at the Faculty of Economics Maged Othman.

In the State Awards for Excellence, the recognition in the literature category has been given to the writer and screenwriter Abdel Rahim Kamal, and the critic Azza Badr.

In the arts category, it has been awarded to the critic and screenwriter Walid Seif, and the architect Hamdi Al Satohi.

For the social sciences category, Omnia Helmy, sociology professor Samia Qadri, and College of Science professor Hamid Eid have been honored.
