This came as the UAE Top Diplomat received Saturday in Abu Dhabi Dr. Konstantinos Kompos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, where they discussed the developments in the Middle East region and their humanitarian repercussions on civilians in the Gaza Strip, as well as the latest developments in the "Amalthea" international maritime corridor initiative to deliver humanitarian aid to northern Gaza.
Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the UAE's commitment to mobilising support for the maritime corridor initiative and working with Cyprus and all regional and international partners to invest in this initiative in the best possible way to contribute to increasing the flow of humanitarian aid to civilians in northern Gaza at a sufficient, sustainable and unimpeded pace.
He underscored the importance of maintaining concerted efforts by the international community to reach a sustainable ceasefire that will contribute to protecting the lives of all civilians and enhancing the humanitarian response to the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people.
In a related context, Sheikh Abdullah and Kompos discussed the UAE-Cyprus friendship relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields.
His Highness affirmed that the UAE attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation relations with the Republic of Cyprus based on the advanced and growing strategic partnership that unites the two countries, expressing his best wishes for prosperity and prosperity to Cyprus and its people.
