Sharjah24: Fatma Al Mahmoud, House of Wisdom HoW’s Cultural Planning Manager, explained that the ‘Chapters of Islamic Art: Carpets’ exhibition introduces visitors to one of the flourishing chapters of Islamic arts, focusing on carpets, textiles, and weaving arts.
Fatima Mahmoud emphasised the significance of the exhibition that showcases a remarkable collection of rare books and titles by Professor Richard Ettinghausen. The collection is part of a vast library that houses 12,000 books and publications dedicated to the history of Arab and Islamic art and architecture. The exhibition will run for a duration of three months.

In an interview with "Sharjah 24", she mentioned that House of Wisdom acquired this precious library as a generous gift from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, stressing that the exhibition aims to bridge the gap between the past and the present, through showcasing this collection alongside contemporary and antique carpets, thanks to collaborations with the  Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative , Jaipur Rugs, and the interactive work celebrating weaving with artist and designer Sarah Al Khayyal.
